26 Jan 10: Beazley Opens Office in Norway
UK insurance group Beazley has announced that, subject to regulatory approval, it intends to open a new office in Oslo, Norway, to service the energy business for the Beazley syndicates at Lloyd’s.
Hilde Thon, previously at brokers Newman, Martin & Buchan, has been appointed Upstream Energy Underwriter at the new office.
Paul Dawson, head of Beazley’s energy team in London, said: “Scandinavian companies are market leaders both in oil and gas production and in the provision of drilling and other support services. We have a longstanding commitment to business from this region. By having a presence on the ground, we aim to build even closer relationships and strengthen our position in respect of business that is traditionally placed into the regional market.”
