18 Dec 09: Alcatel-Lucent Opens R&D Centre in South Korea

France-based telecoms equipment firm Alcatel-Lucent is to establish a technology research facility in the South Korean capital in partnership with the Seoul Metropolitan Government and a South Korean university.

The research facility is expected to focus its efforts from the outset on broadband and mobile applications and services and their enabling sciences and technologies.

The latest facility buildup will bring the number of the company's labs to eight worldwide, including Belgium, Germany, China, India, France, Ireland, and the USA.
